Update

And here's an update! :) More speedpaints. Top and bottom ones are done with reference, the middle one without. References: snake, frog, landscape, swamp. And I'm trying to work on a banner, the first attempt is up but blogger makes it fuzzy and the colours are off. Going to fiddle with it some more.

Going to restyle this blog and I have some updates coming up too, it's been long since I updated here.

Time for an update with some great news, I graduated from the art acadamy! :D It still feels a bit unreal but I'm happy none the less. C: Haha, finally some time for myself again to get some rest.

Long time no update, being very busy with the final things for school. Graduation/exam day in one week, time flies! Going to update the blog with more exam things soon and of course my animaticish animation haha. So here, have an older speedpaint that I forgot to post. C:

More Madagascar project stuff. Really wanted to make a full reference sheet again after a long time not making one. Had fun with it. The bottom ones are more studies with paint, this time with acrylics. Came out a bit too dark but I like the mood of it. Still deciding if I should make it digital or traditional. Leaning towards a combination of both since I really like the texture of the paint.

Speedpaints ahoy. The top one needed some more attention because it was at the bottom of my last post. :P The other one is inspired by the landscape that night when I went walking with my dogs but I didn't have my camera with me so I made an impression instead. :P

Posting stuff from old to new.

First up, are the sketches that came from the first alien designs. They were too feral so I was told to make the alien more 'intelligent'. The first one is inked by hand and coloured in PS

Then I tried to make the storyboard with the story I had written alongside designing the alien. But during the making of the storyboard I felt that it wasn't going 'right'. I didn't had a good feel about it so that's why it's not finished. 

Attempt at the alien once more, with gouache. Wasn't too happy about it. 

More new alien sketches, playing around with the design again.

Then decided to leave the alien alone for a while and focused on the surroundings more and made studies with ink. marker and gouache. These I am very happy with.

 After the studies and after some harsh and not so great attempt at support stuff I wanted to make a new alien. One that would fit with the environment. So I went back to square one a bit, back to the ink shapes and started out with the silhouette of the old one, sortof, as a base.
 

Then took the shape that I liked into Photoshop.

And then a speedpaint concept based on the shape. I am very happy with the speedpaint and I feel that I might be a bit back on track again. We shall see...
